Mailwoman Commercial License Agreement

Version commercial-2026-10. This is the agreement you accept when you buy a Mailwoman commercial license through the checkout on the license page. Acceptance is recorded by Stripe Checkout when you tick the terms box, and the version is written into every license key issued under your subscription. This page is not edited after publication; a later version of the agreement is published at its own address, and a subscription keeps the version it was bought under.

This Commercial License Agreement ("Agreement") governs the use of Mailwoman under a paid, non-copyleft license option offered by Sister Software.

This Agreement is an alternative to the AGPL-3.0-only license. If you do not accept this Agreement, you may use Mailwoman only under the terms of AGPL-3.0-only.

1. Parties​

Licensor: Teffen Ellis (DBA Sister Software) Contact: teffen@sister.software

Licensee: The legal entity named as the licensee at checkout.

2. Grant of Rights​

Upon payment of applicable fees and subject to this Agreement, Licensor grants Licensee a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to:

  • Use Mailwoman internally
  • Modify Mailwoman for internal use
  • Incorporate Mailwoman into proprietary software products
  • Deploy Mailwoman in SaaS or hosted services without AGPL copyleft obligations

This grant covers only the code and model artifacts authored by Licensor. It does not extend to third-party components bundled with Mailwoman (including libpostal dictionaries, Google libaddressinput metadata, and Who's On First reference data), which remain governed by their own licenses. Any attribution, share-alike, or other obligations attaching to those third-party components continue to apply and are not waived or relicensed by this Agreement. 3. Restrictions​

Licensee may not:

  • Redistribute Mailwoman as a standalone product or library
  • Resell Mailwoman in source or binary form
  • Remove copyright or licensing notices
  • Sublicense Mailwoman to third parties
  • Claim ownership over Mailwoman itself

4. Attribution​

Attribution to Licensor is not required in end-user-facing software unless mutually agreed in writing.

This waiver is limited to Licensor's own attribution. It does not reach the attribution required by any third-party component distributed with Mailwoman, or by any dataset Licensee downloads. Those obligations are described in Section 2 and continue to apply, and Licensor has no power to waive them.

5. Fees​

The fee is the price of the plan Licensee selects at checkout, monthly or yearly, in United States dollars, as published on the pricing page at the time of purchase. It is billed as a subscription by Stripe and renews at the end of each paid period until Licensee cancels through the billing portal. A promotion code applied at checkout changes the fee as the code states and no other provision of this Agreement.

6. Term and Termination​

This Agreement takes effect on payment of the first invoice and continues while the subscription is paid.

Each paid period is evidenced by a license key that is valid for that period plus fourteen days. When the subscription ends, the rights granted under this Agreement end when the last key's date passes.

A full refund of a payment, or a payment dispute, ends the rights granted for the period that payment covered.

Licensor may terminate this Agreement if Licensee materially breaches its terms.

Upon termination, Licensee must immediately cease use of Mailwoman under this Agreement and revert to AGPL-3.0-only terms if continued use is desired.

7. No Warranty​

Mailwoman is provided under this Agreement "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

8. Liability​

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Licensor shall not be liable for any damages arising from use of Mailwoman under this Agreement.

9. Governing Law​

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Delaware for any dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement.

10. Relationship to AGPL​

This Agreement is an alternative licensing option to AGPL-3.0-only.

If Licensee does not obtain or comply with this Agreement, all use of Mailwoman is governed solely by AGPL-3.0-only.
